Kidder County Sheriff ChargedInvestigation of campaign misconduct.
STEELE, N.D. (AP) — Charges have been filed against the Kidder County sheriff in an investigation of campaign misconduct.
Information released Thursday by Kidder County assistant state's attorney Kathleen Trosen shows Doug Howard was charged Tuesday with three counts of corrupt practices relating to interfering with elections and one count of disorderly conduct.
Trosen said later Thursday that the charges were filed in an investigation of a complaint against Howard, who's running for re-election. She declined to release further details.
A message left for Howard at the sheriff's office wasn't immediately available. He's due in court Aug. 2.
