Cavalier Air Force Station Open House

People from all over North Dakota are celebrating the open house today.

People from all over North Dakota are celebrating an open house today at the Cavalier Air Force Station.

The event is going on all day today to celebrate the past, present and the future of the military.

There are things for the whole family, including a K-9 demonstration, children's activities, and a first-hand look at helicopters.

People involved say it's a great way to talk with people from the community and show them what they do.

"Just talking to people. A lot of old Vets will come up and talk to you about, especially vietnam vets who have flown in Hewey's back when they were the work force in vietnam, so it's cool to talk to those guys and let the kids climb around and flip switches and stuff." said Minot AFB 1st Lieutenant Mike Welt.

The 10th Space Warning Squadron is hosting the event, which is free and open to the public.
