FAIRMONT, Minn. (AP) - Authorities are releasing the names of four young men who were killed when a car and semitrailer collided on a back road in southern Minnesota.

The Star Tribune reports they are the car's driver, 23-year-old Terrance John Tierney of Odin, and three men from St. James, 21-year-old Luis Alberto Martinez Jr., 23-year-old Jose Teodor Cardoza and 24-year-old Joshua Robert Adams.

The Martin County sheriff's department says they all died just before 6 a.m. Saturday at the scene of the crash just north of the small town of Welcome.

A fifth person in the car is in critical condition at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. The semi driver was treated and released.

Authorities say the car driven by Tierney slammed into the semi at the intersection of a gravel road. None of the deceased were wearing seatbelts.
