BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The U.S. Senate's Judiciary Committee has scheduled another vote on whether to endorse Bismarck lawyer Tim Purdon as North Dakota's U.S. attorney.

Purdon was in line for a vote on June 24, but it was delayed. Purdon's name is on the committee's business agenda Tuesday in Washington - along with a possible vote on Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan.

President Obama nominated the Oakes native for the job last February. Purdon requires Senate confirmation.

The U.S. attorney is North Dakota's top federal prosecutor. Assistant U.S. attorney Lynn Jordheim has been filling in since Republican appointee Drew Wrigley resigned last September.

Purdon is a former North Dakota representative on the Democratic National Committee.
