A New Spider Cage For Altru

Altru hospital is getting some new equipment thanks to proceeds from the 2010 Dewey Kvidt Memorial Duathlon.

This is the fifth year of the event and each year they pick an organization to give money to.

The duathlon presented Altru with 85-hundred dollars for a second Spider Cage which is a bungee system that provides another set of hands for people with strength or flexibility issues.

Since the clinic only has one now, scheduling conflicts make it hard to give patients the time they need during treatment.

Duathlon committee members thought this was a good choice.

"We decided this year we wanted to stay with a local charity and bring the money in here, and so this year we decided to partner up with the Altru health foundation." Duathlon Co-Chair Lynn Kvidt said.

In the past the Duathlon committee has worked with special olympics and given money to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
