North Dakota Student Math Scores About the Same as 20074th and 8th Graders Scored Higher Than National Average.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — New math test results show no significant change for North Dakota fourth-graders and eighth-graders since 2007, though they scored higher than the national average.
The results from the National Assessment of Educational Progress, released Wednesday, show fourth-graders in North Dakota with an average score of 245. It compared with an average of 239 for public school students around the country.
The average score for eighth-graders in North Dakota was 293, higher than the 282 national average. But the report said neither average was significantly different from 2007.
Nationally, the figures showed no improvement for fourth-graders over 2007, while eighth-graders showed gains.
