The first Mayor's Choice Artist put his work on display at City Hall in Grand Forks today.
Xavier Pastrano was chosen by Mayor Mike Brown to be featured as the program's first artist. Pastrano's bluegrass band, The North River Ramblers, also played at today's reception.
Pastrano's paintings, photographs, and stencil art will be on display at city hall for the next three months.
"This is really my first time being recognized for my artwork and photography. For me personally, it's a big step for me. It's something I've always been passionate about," Pastrano said.
The program is partnered with the North Valley Arts Council and will choose another artist to be featured in three months.
Pastrano does sell his artwork, and the display in City Hall is open to the public.
