County officials and customers were on hand for two ribbon cutting ceremonies in Finley. An event months in the making, Finley grocery store Stone's Market had its grand opening.

"This store has pretty good inventory.. Try to buy things locally," said customer Richard Johnson.

Johnson said a good local grocery store is a necessity.

"When you walk in you want to find what you need without having to walk up and down every aisle."

The grocery store been Stone's Market for nine years. Formerly a Super Valu, Finley's only grocery store is a town fixture.

"It's perfect. Right where everyone comes straight through. It's centrally located," said Katie Maynard while getting her groceries.

They say it's the place to go, and now with a new location customers have a few more reasons to shop here."

" We have signs, aisle signs, a tiled floor that is actually white." General Manager Chelsea Stone pointed out a few perks of their new building they have been in since February.

"We had people come out and pack everything in boxes. Truck by truck and load by load we brought it out"

Now it is the grand opening for the new location. The Finley Economic Development Corporation along with the Griggs-Steele Empowerment Zone helped with funding the $550,000 project. The ribbon cutting was all about community and customers.

"We got things from the haircutting place, things from the gas station, Finley motors. When people come in they enter a drawing. If they win it goes back to the community," said Stone.

Beyond the prizes, customers are just happy to have a new grocery store.

"It's nice and new. Has everything I want to buy," said customer Shirley Alm.
