A Grand Forks teenager is facing charges and a 29-year-old woman is in the hospital after the car they were in hit a house.
"I was sleeping. All of a sudden I heard, 'Boom,’” says Blaine Morin.
Blaine Morin was in the house at 1105 North 20th street in Grand Forks when police say a car ran into it around a quarter to one this afternoon.
Morin says, "And all of a sudden I ran outside, and I was like, ‘Oh My God.’ I was like, ‘What Happened? What Happened?’"
Police say the 17-year-old driver of the car was arrested for driving under the influence. The passenger, 29-year-old Hope Goodshield, was taken to the emergency room by an ambulance.
Sergeant Tom Laughlin with the Grand Forks Police Department says, "A '98 Pontiac was northbound on North 20th Street, attempted to turn into the alley, ran off the road, and hit a house."
"I was pretty darn frightened for her cause she was laying on the ground and everything,” says Morin.
Morin was mainly just worried about the woman. He says the house doesn't have much damage.
"I think it's because they hit the side of the house, but the car looks totaled,” says Morin.
Goodshield is in satisfactory condition at Altru.
Because of his age, the name of the 17-year-old man who was arrested is not being released.
