A discussion group geared towards strengthening agriculture in Minnesota was held in Crookston today.
The Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council invited community members to give their input.
The MAELC had the session at the University of Minnesota and Crookston. They broke into four groups to discuss jobs in agriculture, locally-grown food and student learning.
The minutes from today's discussion will be compiled into their legislative action plan, helping the organizition chart their next five years.
This is their eighth and final session in the state Executive Director Julie Tesch said the input helps them think about how to provide service to each community.
" How can we help prepare a better workforce, help build a stronger economy, help with awareness of food and agriculture and natural resources and also be positive in student learning?" said Tesch.
The MAELC has visited cities in Minnesota all summer including Wilmar, St. Paul and Rochester.
