FLW Comes to Devils LakeIt's a big weekend on Devils Lake...with lots of boats in the water.
You've probably heard the saying.."drivers start your engines.."
Well this morning at the Woodland Resort...you heard "boaters start your engines."
The FLW is in town and the fish are biting.
One weighed in at 9lbs 8oz.
So he may not be leading right now...but there are still two days left of the tournament.
"we'll take it Sonny"
Anglers said fishing was great..some even caught up to 100 fish..but you can only weigh 5.
Another at 16LBS 3Oz
Sonny Reynolds, Director of Walleye Operations for FLW Outdoors says "a lots riding on this tournament"
The top ten anglers from today and tomorrow fish on Saturday to qualify for the FLW Walleye Tour Championship.
"A lot of the fishermen have been in town since late last week practicing," says Reynolds.
They practice because catching a fish takes skill.
Sonny Reynolds says, "these guys work hard at what they do. Sure theres a little luck in everything but these guys learn to adapt to the weather, the water, read their electronics, figure out what its going to take to get the fish to bite."
And they were biting today.
One at 10lbs 7 oz.
Sonny Reynolds: "it's going to be a shootout"
Rain or Shine...or wind...they fish.
Sonny Reynolds "FLW outdoors, we love Devils Lake. We love to come back.
FLW Outdoors is also hosting a family fishing clinic on Saturday at 2:30 at Lake Chevrolet.
