A program at Turtle River State Park is getting those little ones excited about nature and the environment.
The Dakota Explorers class takes place every Saturday throughout the summer at the park to get kids involved.
The group covers many topics including different artwork, bugs and amphibians.
Organizers say it's important to teach children at a young age how important the environment is and the park tries to have a wide variety of topics for the whole family.
"We try to offer a different subject and a different topic every weekend throughout the entire summer. So if you were to come camping every weekend you would come to a different class or learn something new every weekend that you came." naturalist Tina Harding said.
You do not have to be staying at the Park to participate in these events, they are open to the public.
