UNDATED (AP) - After easing for four months, the nation's economic stress worsened in June because more bankruptcies in the West and foreclosures outside the Sun Belt outweighed lower unemployment.

Stress conditions continued to be lightest in the Northern Plains.

That's according to The Associated Press' monthly analysis of conditions around the country. It found that the most economically stressed states became more so in June. The setback halted a drop in month-to-month stress readings that had begun in February.

The healthiest state was again North Dakota, followed by South Dakota and Nebraska.

North Dakota's Ward County and South Dakota's Brown County topped the list of least economically stressed counties with populations of at least 25,000.

North Dakota's Burleigh County and South Dakota's Brookings, Codington and Pennington counties also were in the top ten.
