The Executive Director of Circle of Friends Humane Society in Grand Forks said they have almost 80 cats
Twice the number they usually have, these cats are waiting to be adopted.
Executive Director Arlette Moen said the number of cats they see is related to an increase in stray cats.
She said a lot of people are dropping their cats off at farms. Just last week someone brought in ten stray cats someone had left on their property.
With the number of pets they take in, Circle of Friends can be a good resource for people looking for a pet.
" It's important for people to be aware of how many cats we take in. Total pets just generally on a weekly basis is between 35-40," said Moen.
