Hundreds of people showed up to the Camp Grafton Open House today, including Congressmen Earl Pomeroy and Governor John Hoeven.
The ribbon cutting ceremony of the new regional training institute included both politicians, who helped get the funding for the building.
After the ceremony, there was an open house for people to tour the new facility and see what it looks like inside.
Pomeroy says this is a great day for people at Camp Grafton, and the training done in this building will be groundbreaking.
"This really hasn't been done before where you have National Guard training active duty. So I think it's a recognition by everyone that what takes place here at Camp Grafton is second to none." Congressman Earl Pomeroy said.
Phase two of the project is scheduled to start in 2017 which will add over 150 rooms.
The open house also included activities for the whole family like a pedal car, military vehicle display, and military simulators.
