A former UND student body president severely hurt in a St. Michael, Minnesota assault is back in the ICU. He was supposed to have a surgery this week to replace bone on his skull.
Adam Baker, 31, suffered a head wound from an assault outside of a bar.
Baker has been in a coma since May 2 when he was assaulted. The criminal complaint says Baker was punched and fell to the ground and hit his head outside of a St. Michael, MN bar. He has massive brain injuries.
According to his caringbridge.org website, he has been readmitted to the ICU at North Memorial in Minneapolis for an infection his family says his immune system is unable to fight.
A man charged with the assault will be in court in September.
Alexander Tuomisto, 23, of Saint Michael, Minnesota has posted a $200,000 dollar bond on a second degree assault charge in the case.
A fund has been set up to help pay for Baker's medical expenses.
