The Point Bridge in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks will open Friday night
This will help traffic congestion in downtown Grand Forks and East Grand Forks because most the traffic has been using the Demers or Sorlie Bridge downtown.
After about a month of road work near the bridge on the East Grand Forks side it will open to traffic Friday evening. Contractors have been making repairs to the intersection of 1st Street South-east and 3rd Avenue South-east to the base of the Point Bridge where there was damage caused by spring flooding in 2009.
About 6,000 cars use the point bridge daily.
