Two People Injured in Motorcycle Accident Near York

Two people are in the hospital after a Saturday motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 2 near York, North Dakota.

Two people are in the hospital after a motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 2 near York, North Dakota.

Brian Hickel and Tamie Hickel were traveling west on U.S. Highway 2 nearing York.

As they approached the driver, Hickel, noticed a semi sitting at the stop sign waiting to go south across the highway. As they got close to the intersection the semi started to cross the roadway.

Hickel was driving in the driving lane and began to move to the outside passing lane in order to avoid hitting the semi. The motorcycle entered the median at the intersection and rolled.

Both were ejected off the motorcycle. They were taken by the Leeds ambulance to Heart of America Hospital in Rugby.

they were transferred to Trinity Hospital in Minot in stable condition. Both were wearing helmets.

The semi driver, Francisco Navarro of Grafton was cited for failing to yield, and driving with a suspended drivers license.
