The Dakota Nursing Program at Lake Region State College may be bringing its Practical Nurse and Associate Degree R-N program to Mayville State University.

Representatives from the Lake Region were in Mayville today for informational sessions to gauge public interest. Classes would be on inter-active videos. A nurse in the Mayville area would do the clinicals. The program has had other distance sites...including Langdon... Grafton and Carrington. After the meetings today adminstrators will know if there is enough interest to bring the program to Mayville.

Julie Traynor/Program Director: "If there are 100 people that show up that are interested, about 25 of them actually sign up for the program, so we would like to start out with 8 students, 8 to 10 students, so we would need that times four."

If there is enough interest...administrators would then seek approval from the North Dakota State Board of Nursing. The program could start in 2010.
