ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota's unemployment rate hasn't budged.
A report released Thursday showed a seasonally adjusted 6.8 percent unemployment rate for July, the same as it was in June. But state officials say that employers added 9,800 jobs.
Minnesota's rate remains far below the U.S. jobless rate of 9.5 percent.
The Department of Employment and Economic Development says that Minnesota has added 29,100 jobs over the past 12 months. July's largest gains came in health and education fields as well as business services, leisure and hospitality sectors. Government itself cut 9,100 jobs, partly because of the wind-down in census jobs.
