More deck space could be in the future for the Riverside Pool in Grand Forks.
An improvement the Grand Forks Park District hopes to make next summer.
During a meeting with city council members today, the park district said they are looking into how much it would cost to add a ten foot strip of concrete on the west side of the pool.
The addition would allow more space for people to spread out more.
This summer was the first full swimming season at Riverside Pool since a city-wide vote to re-open it two years ago.
Riverside, along with Elks Pool, have brought in a combined 30,000 swimmers so far this year.
The Riverside Neighborhood Association also noticed a resurgence in people going to the park area.
Bill Palmiscno with the Park District says having the extra pool brought more adults to the pool, who usually found Elks Pool a bit too crowded.
" That shied away a lot older adults and the middle age adults to come to the pool because of so many kids at the pool. This way they can spread out," said Palmiscno.
According to Palmiscno, the Elks pool will close on Sunday.
Riverside Pool will stay open from three in the afternoon until 8pm for one extra week until August 29th.
