Crews are almost finished with projects inside the conference center area of the events center.
City leaders wanted one of the entrances to stand out more than the others. Crews have added more than 3,000 square feet inside the entrance. The new entrance is now glass from the floor to the ceiling.
Crews are also working on a suite level club and broadcast booths in the arena area, which they plan to have done by September 10th.
Alerus Center Director of Operations Jeremy Linstad says, “We're doing everything we can to be done and operational in the suite level for the upcoming football season. As of right now, we're on task, and we should be able to meet that deadline.”
Alerus Center officials would like to see other improvements, like an escalator and upgraded exterior lighting, but they're waiting to see what their budget will be.
