Just into mid-year and the Alerus Center is still on budget with its end of the year predictions.
Expenses have been reduced to make a zero budget and while summer tends to be a slower time of the year...fall is one of the busiest.
Commissioner Curt Kruen says that UND football is a huge part of the fall activity. He also points out that as the new Division One schedule develops and rivalries are formed...the crowds will roll in.
The good news for the Alerus center is that while the arena side may be down..conventions have been above average.
"We are trying to be very conservative in our budgeting process but the good news is the convention side is still above, way above last year's, way above our budget and so our income goals are going to be very close to being met," says Kreun.
The Alerus commission is still working on getting large concerts into the area which will help boost the arena side of the venue.
