HILLSBORO, N.D. (AP) — Dog gone. Traill County's drug dog is done.
Sheriff Mike Crocker says there isn't enough work to justify the expense of keeping a K9 unit.
Sam the yellow lab started his duties five years ago, when Crocker says the methamphetamine problem was "exploding." But the dog has seen little action since.
Crocker says Sam is now working for a Grand Forks business that specializes in drug detection work.
