The family of Tasha Brenno, 19 and James Freestone, 21, maintain a memorial at a Grand Forks intersection almost three months after the crash that killed them.

19-year-old Tasha Brenno and 21-year-old James Freestone were passengers in a car that was hit by a speeding car at Columbia and 17th Street South in Grand Forks on June 5.

The next night, families of Tasha and James held a candlelight vigil at the intersection to remember them. They make sure the makeshift memorial is kept up by trimming the grass and arranging flowers.

"It's a great place for all of us to leave our memories and stuff, because they were young and they knew so many different people and so many types of groups. It's kind of a way too for us to see how they've impacted other peoples lives. It's nice to see that." James Freestone's sister Jackie Hoffarth said.

Celso Garza, 24, will back in court on October 21 and faces up to 63 years in prison for nine charges including homicide and running away from an officer.
