The North Dakota Highway Patrol is releasing the name of a woman who died in a car crash near Devils Lake on Friday.
59-year-old Mee Xiong from Woodbury, MN died at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said at about 4:00 pm,38-year-old Ka Xiong who was driving a KIA van pulled out onto Highway 2 from the shoulder near the Hay Bail Bay area.
The KIA was rear-ended by an eastbound pickup driven by 25-year-old Brandon Walski of Grand Forks. Mee Xiong was a passenger in the KIA.
Ka Xiong and three other passengers in the KIA were injured. The driver of the pickup was also hurt.
18-year-old Maranda Arends, a passenger in the pickup, was not hurt. No one in either vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
Ka Xiong was cited for failing to yield.
