ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Gov. Tim Pawlenty says he plans to limit Minnesota's participation in the federal health care overhaul as much as possible.
Pawlenty said Tuesday he would issue executive orders to that effect later in the day.
The governor says that's why he turned down applying for an $850,000 sex education grant. But Pawlenty says his order will be much broader than that grant.
Pawlenty called the federal health care overhaul misguided. He says his office has just finished reviewing the state funding opportunities related to the bill.
Though Pawlenty wouldn't sign off on the sex education grant money, he did OK applying for federal money for abstinence-only education.
