DL Commissioners Identify Issues to Take to Washington D.C.

With a big hearing in Washington, D.C. friday, the Devils Lake and Ramsey County Commissions held a joint meeting today to get ready .

It was made clear that water needs to be taken off the lake but the issue of an acceptable elevation was talked about.

Commissioners also agreed that lost farm land and roads need to be addressed and that leaving Washington without some sort of plan is unacceptable.

Ramsey County Commissioner Joe Belford said, "we're talking about a huge picture here and we need to try to get some relief as soon as possible."

Devils Lake Mayor Dick Johnson said he got a call this morning from a Warwick farmer who's farm will soon be under water, just another example of why something needs to be done for the Lake Region immediately.

They'll meet with the Congressional Delegation on this Friday morning.
