A Viking Elementary School Teacher Honored

A Viking Elementary School physical education teacher honored today.

A Viking Elementary School physical education teacher honored today.

Jane Perkins who was a teacher for 23 years at Viking had a new playground dedicated in here honor. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and died in 2009.

The Viking PTO, teachers and kids came together to raise money to build this playground in Perkin's honor.

"The kids are extatic its been really hard because of the weather to explain to them they can use the new playground but they ask everyday is today the day" said Amber Steiner the Viking PTO President.

The kids wore pink and an oak tree was planted in Perkin's honor.
