3 Months Since Fatal Accident

Friends and family of two young adults killed in a car accident on Columbia Road and 17th Avenue South in Grand Forks held a memorial tonight.

Friends and family of two young adults killed in a car accident on Columbia Road and 17th Avenue South in Grand Forks held a memorial tonight.

The accident happened three months ago.

People came together tonight to remember, share stories and just talk about the good times they had with the people they've lost.

19-year-old Tasha Brenno and 21-year-old James Freestone of Grand Forks lost their lives in the accident.

Authorities say 24-year-old Celso Garza ran a red light, sped away from police and hit their car.

Friends and family say this is an important night and it helps to know that people still think about and remember the two that died in the accident.

"It's wonderful, you know, it means people still are thinking about them and they still love them. It's a great place to get together for support." James Freestone's sister Jackie Hoffarth said.

Garza faces 63 years in prison for nine charges, including homicide and running away from an officer.
