Names Of Burn Victims From Swift, MN Bonfire Released

Three people are suffering severe burns to their bodies after a bonfire explosion in Roseau County.

Three people are suffering severe burns to their bodies after a bonfire explosion in Roseau County.

The Roseau County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to the Nicholas Soiney house near Swift, MN at around 11:30 Sunday night.

Authorities say Mark Gibson of Warroad had put gasoline in a bottle and placed it in the fire. The bottle was knocked over by some wood that was thrown into the fire, causing an explosion. People around the fire were hurt.

The Sheriff’s Office says the three people closest to the fire were transported to LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau and then airlifted to Hennepin County Burn Center in Minneapolis.

The three people were 20-year-old Sandra Ree of Baudette, 20-year-old Keandra Sweetney of Warroad, and 35-year-old Gibson.

Ree and Sweetney were in serious condition late Tuesday afternoon. Gibson was in satisfactory condition.

The incident is still under investigation.
