GF City Council Passes Ban On Texting While DrivingA texting while driving ban was approved by the Grand Forks City Council tonight.
The ban has been in and out of council over the last couple months, and after hearing people's concerns, the council has moved it forward.
Council members say they have taken time to research texting while driving and see how other communities have dealt with the issue.
Enforcement has been a concern, but some council members say if it's a law you can't text while driving, they think less people will do it.
The council decided tonight that those who don't obey the law and are caught will be fined 15 dollars.
The law will go into effect in a little over a month on October 15th.
