Absentee Voting Starts Next Week In Minnesota

Officials say they want people to apply now for absentee ballots especially those who are serving or will serve overseas on election day.

With the general election coming up on November 2nd, absentee voting starts next week in the state of Minnesota.

Officials say they want people to apply now for absentee ballots especially those who are serving or will serve overseas on election day.

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says now people can look online to make sure they are properly registered and that information is correct.

Ritchie says talking with groups around Minnesota helps keep people informed on when and how to vote.

"We're always at the top of the nation in terms of voter turnout, our two states are always in the top five. Typically Minnesota's always at the top but it's because we want everyone to vote." Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said.

The absentee balloting period is from September 17th through November 1st.
