Walk-Run Raises Funds and Awareness

Family and friends of people who have an incurable disease, along with others, walked to raise money to find a cure.

Over 100 people came out today for the Team Hope Walk-Run to support people they know with Huntington's disease.

This is the second year of the event to both raise money and awareness about the disease.

Huntington's disease causes the progressive death of nerve cells in the brain and can affect people of all ages.

People involved with the event say it is important to support and help each other.

"My husband died three years ago of Huntington's disease, and that brought us to this point. I knew there were families and people that need some support and they have been a big support to me too," race volunteer Terry Fore said.

Organizers say they are glad so many people came out to the event, and they hope to see more each year.
