Learning About Safe Driving

People in Grand Forks are getting a lesson on good driving as part of the National Safety Council's Alive at 25 program.

Students in the four hour class are 14 to 25 years old. It's held once a month. Students learn about texting while driving, driving in bad weather and how regular car maintenance can prevent crashes.

"At their age what we're looking at is their decision-making process. And they just don't have the experience behind the wheel all these things become factors when they get out on the road," Quentin McCart of the North Dakota highway patrol said.

Students choose to enroll or are court ordered.
