GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The city-owned Alerus Center in Grand Forks is anticipating a $19,300 loss by year's end.
The budget set last year said the facility would break even.
The Alerus has lost $172,000 so far this year, though losses have slowed in recent months. In July, the facility lost $14,000 compared to the expected loss of $76,000.
Profits from bigger events in the fall, such as University of North Dakota football games, will help make up for earlier losses. The Alerus also gets a $390,000 city subsidy that is included as part of the year-end calculation of profits or losses.
