Grand Forks school that flooded reopens

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Students at Valley Middle School in Grand Forks were returning to classes Friday, a day after their school was flooded by a water line break.

There was about 16 inches of muddy water on the lower level of the school on Thursday morning, prompting district Superintendent Larry Nybladh (NY'-blad) to cancel classes for the day.

The water line that broke runs from a water main into the school. Nybladh says a lot of textbooks and teaching material were soaked, but the water didn't rise high enough to damage the electrical system and computers.
