One Central High School girl is going to represent North Dakota by singing around the world.
A fundraiser will be held this weekend to help pay for Megan Woods' journey to seven different countries as part of a Northern Ambassadors of Music European tour in summer 2011.
Megan Woods has Asperger's Syndrome but is able to sing in front of people.
She was nominated by Governor John Hoeven to sing in seven different countries abroad. The money raised by the fundraiser will send Woods and her mother on this momentous trip.
"For her, it will open up an avenue that would have never have happened to her and maybe it could open up something else for her singing. She has a beautiful voice," said Michelle Montgomery, the Team Megan Co-Chair.
The fundraiser is this Saturday starting at 6 pm at South Gate Grill and Bar in Grand Forks and includes a silent auction, dinner and prize drawings. Admission is $15 per person and $25 per couple.
