National Farm Safety Week
Harvest has been underway for quite some time now, but this week is being recognized as National Farm Safety Week.
Accidents in grain bins are one of the most common on the farm.
It can be quite easy for a person to get sucked down in the grain and suffocate.
A number of farm workers have lost a limb or a finger because they've had an accident while cleaning a machine.
"It's not uncommon through the season to have several customers that come in through the door that have had their fingers into something or their arm caught in something," Twete Inc. store manager John Swensetch said.
Most tractors now come with things like roll-bars and P-T-O covers to prevent serious injury.
