BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A sex offender from Wishek has been sentenced to 55 years in prison for attempting to rape a 5-year-old girl and several other charges related to a February incident.
Twenty-three-year-old Owen Adams was sentenced Wednesday.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that McIntosh County State's Attorney Terry Elhardt says Adams molested a 5-year-old girl in his bedroom and then threatened family members and officers with a shotgun.
In July, Adams pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition, assault on a peace officer, attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer and three counts of reckless endangerment.
