From saving a man from drowning in a pool to shoveling snow off the police department's sidewalks, the Grand Forks Police Department recognized those who have gone above and beyond.

The 2010 Grand Forks Police Department Awards Ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon.

Awards were given out in eight categories, along with recognizing those who have been with the police department for up to 30 years.

One of the lifesaving awards was given out to Lois and Marty Ustanko, who helped save Habimana Francois from drowning.

Francois was at today's ceremony to show his appreciation.

Others recognized did things like save people's lives by performing CPR and donate funds to the SWAT team.
