Grand Forks Civic Center demolished
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Workers on Tuesday demolished the old downtown Civic Center in Grand Forks.
The site is being cleared for a four-story building that will be a combination of commercial business space and apartment units.
The 53-year-old building started as a National Guard armory and was later turned into a city convention center. It became obsolete when the Alerus Center opened nearly a decade ago.
