After pharmacy ruling, ND fall ballot almost ready

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's November ballot is almost ready for the printer.

Secretary of State Al Jaeger says the state Supreme Court's refusal to put a pharmacy ownership voter initiative on the ballot will allow him to finish up work on the final version.

Jaeger says he's expecting to certify the ballot Wednesday and send it to county auditors.

Jaeger says the work was mostly completed before Tuesday's Supreme Court ruling. The court decided the pharmacy initiative petition didn't meet the state Constitution's requirements to go on the ballot the fall.

The November ballot will have two measures. They seek to set up a state savings account for oil money, and to ban the shooting of big game within fenced areas.
