Family angry after Minn. boy hurt by school mowerBEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — A 5-year-boy in Bemidji was scratched and bruised when he was run over by a lawnmower during recess, and his parents aren't happy with the elementary school's reaction.
Sabrina Kaiser says an official at J.W. Smith Elementary School called her Thursday to say Aden Martin got a little bump. She says it was obviously more than a bump.
She says school officials haven't answered her questions or fully explained what happened.
Bemidji School Superintendent Jim Hess says officials are taking the incident very seriously. He tells KSAX-TV the school is prepared to adjust its maintenance schedule and safety precautions.
The lawnmower blades are in the front. Aden says he was run over by the back tires and dragged while screaming.
