The incident happened Wednesday shortly before 5 pm in the area of 5th Ave. and Oxford road.

Police say a female described as having shoulder-length blond hair was walking two small, brown dogs.

The female college student who was bitten did not know she had been bitten when she had contact with the dog, but when she discovered the skin had been broken, she reported the bite.

The student who was bitten is seeking rabies vaccination verification but does not wish to proceed with any other legal action.
