Man Pleads Guilty in ND Tribal Casino Theft

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Belcourt man has pleaded guilty to stealing from the tribal casino on the Turtle Mountain Reservation.
U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 40-year-old Shane Trottier faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $1 million fine on the charge of theft by officers and employees of gaming establishments on Indian lands. He's to be sentenced next Jan. 3.
Trottier was accused of stealing nearly $2,500 from the Sky Dancer Casino in Belcourt while he was working as a cashier.
