71-year-old Oak Ridge Boy William Lee Golden was hospitalized briefly in Grand Forks Sunday night. He did not perform with his country/gospel group The Oak Ridge Boys Sunday for their show at the Chester Fritz Auditorium. After the show's first song, band mates explained to the Grand Forks crowd that Golden had fallen ill in Minot where the group had performed 8 shows in 4 days at the Norsk Hostfest music festival. Their final show in Minot was Saturday night. The group told the crowd that Golden was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

A Tennessee representative for Golden tells WDAZ he was released from Altru Hospital Monday after an outpatient procedure and was headed home to Tennessee. She would not comment on what the procedure was but stated that Golden was "doing well." She did not say whether he would continue with the group to their scheduled performance Tuesday in Branson, MO. Golden joined The Oak Ridge Boys in 1964.
