"Fun" probably isn't a word many students would use to describe state standardized tests. But today a school in Devils Lake looked to change that.

Kids at Central Middle School left their books behind this afternoon to take party in a Test Prep Rally. Students and faculty participated in activities that aimed to prepare kids for the tests in a fun way. They had an egg toss to improve their concentration, and with their hands tied behind their backs, searched for gummy "bookworms" in plates of whipped cream with their mouths.

Maddy Walford: "They're going to have a blindfold on, and their partner's going to have to direct them through the gym through obstacles."

Hannah Steffen: "It'll make you feel like [the tests is] not as big of a deal, and so you're not as nervous for it and you're more prepared."

Fifth and sixth grade students start the tests next Monday.

Seventh and eighth graders begin theirs the Monday after.
