There was quite a mess at the UND Memorial Union Wednesday morning.

The Grand Forks Fire Department was called to UND at about 10am after a sprinkler broke in the A&W restaurant inside the Union

Maintenance workers with mops and vacuums worked quickly to pick up an estimated 150 gallons of water from the broken pipe.

"Maintenance turned the sprinkler off, and we started to drain that pipe. It takes a while to drain that piping, so that is why we have had as much water," Rick Aamot with the Grand Forks Fire Department said.

It's not known what caused the problem, and little damage is expected from the broken pipe.
