Some people in Grand Forks have experienced a number of power outages lately.
The latest being a short outage on Sunday afternoon.
It lasted just 4 minutes, but left 8,455 people without power.
One outage on Thursday night turned out to be about an hour long and affected about 3,100 people.
They have been limited to the south side of the city.
Excel Energy says they have do a major replacement of an underground power line.
The project will start this week.
Xcel Energy says some people who live around 32nd Avenue South in Grand Forks have experienced as many as four outages in recent weeks, ranging from an hour to just a few minutes.
Because of that they have put a half million dollar project on the fast track.
It will replace a feeder line near the Columbia mall.
Xcel Energy blamed Thursday's outage on an underground power line that had failed. They say the short outage Sunday was caused by a crew in the area doing maintenance work in a substation. Xcel says Sunday's outage is not related to the underground power line.
